there is any reference to parents names etc. I would be especially

For land information, you should write to the County Clerk, Anderson
County Courthouse, Garnett, KS 66032. Agricultural census information can
be obtained, I believe, from the the KS State Historical Society
[www.kshs.org].

My references indicate that Andrew Caldwell was an original builder of
Lone Elm and the small town of Reeve. In Aug of 1895 he transferrred 80
acres to Elias Reeve for $2000, and sold Andrew McMurray 160 acres for
$3000. In October of that year he sold a quarter section to Albert
Hoover, and the paper noted that he had but four quarters left. It sounds
from these articles like Mr. caldwell bought up quite a bit of land in
1880 and was in the process of selling most of it off at a good profit in
1895.

Since he was so prominent in the history of Lone Elm, I also recommend
that you contact the Anderson County Historical Society
[ancohiso@kanza.net]. They may have more information on him and be able
to help you further.
