My great grandfather was Xavier Francois Jardon. He was born 30 Apr 1822 in France. He married Mary Elise Beauchat 1 Nov 1852 in Norfolk, CT. He came to Douglas County, KS, about 1858, and lived there until his death in 1890. I am trying to find some record of when he came to America, and what ship he came on. He did not apply for naturlization. I am hoping to contact someone who would be willing to check homestead or land records that would tell me the exact year he arrived in America.
