I am the great great grand daughter of Nathaniel English, who was, if I read Wichita history correctly, one of seven horsemen credited with the founding of Wichita, Kansas.

I am also the director of the Whimsy Garden project in Eureka, CA, which will one day become an indoor-outdoor Victorian museum for visiting fieldtrips of school children who can study of the history of the founder of Eureka, James Talbot Ryan, 1860's owner and developer of the Whimsy Garden property.

As I devote my life to restoring the Ryan Victorian in Old Town Eureka with many dedicated committee members, as well as design the proposed garden, I wonder if anyone in Kansas has helped to bring the history of Nathaniel English to the children of Kansas. Not only would I be interested in that history as his descendant, but as a teacher and historian paralleling such pursuits on the West Coast and Northern California.

I wonder if the Victorian home Nathaniel English built in Wichita is still there, which I doubt. I have English's old glass negatives from the late 1800's with many photos of his Wichita home and my late relatives. His old home is pictured in many of them. He was an amateur photographer.

If you are interested in learning about the Whimsy Garden, visit www.whimsygarden.org. If you know of any relatives of English remaining in Wichita, I would love to be contacted at: greneyes46@aol.com . Any information readers may have on Nathaniel English, would be greatly appreciated.
