I am searching for the family of Charles and Sophea Burg. Charles was known as Carl Erik Björk in his native Karlskoga, Örebro län, Sweden. He emigrated to the USA in 1870. I believe that Charles and Sophea Burg were married in the Keokuk, Lee County, Iowa area.

They had the following children:

David C Burg
Anna Carolina Burg Wooley born 13 Aug 1874 @ Keokuk, Iowa
Amanda V Burg Bauck
Arthur Burg born 1881
Ella Burg born 1882
Clara Amelia Burg Gahr born 1883
Janette S Burg Anderson
Selma Burg Planteen
Thelma Burg Hill

According to daughter Anna Burg's obituary, "while she was still very young her parents moved to Sharon Springs, KS, and she later moved to Colorado Springs where she met and married Clarence Wooley on June 7, 1903." This would seem to indicate that the family moved to Wallace County in mid to late 1870s. Could it be that Charles Burg homesteaded land in the area? Siblings later homesteaded in South Dakota and North Dakota.

I am not sure when the family moved from the Sharon Springs area. They may have moved to the Emmet County, Iowa area where two siblings were living in the 1880s to 1900. Or do you suppose that the family stayed in the Sharon Springs area until Anna was old enough for her to strike out on her own by moving to Colorado Springs?

Charles Burg purchased farm land near Badger, South Dakota in 1903. He lived there until his death in 1936.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
