Reverend John Bond was a Lutheran minister in Glasco. He moved to Cloud County in the late 1870s and died there in the early 1900s. His son, Edward Bond, stayed in Kansas while his other sons moved to California (John), Illinois (George and Herman), and New York (William).

The Reverend was married to Maria Catharina (Kate) Kurtz on December 28, 1851 in Syracuse, New York. Together they had seven children, three of them not surviving to adulthood, and raised four other boys from Kate's first marriage to Gabriel Warner. Kate was from Baden, Germany and John was from Hessen-Darmstadt, Germany.

I am interested in exchanging information with other researchers of this family line. My goal is to determine the towns in Germany that John and Kate emigrated from. Additionally, I would like to learn more about their life in Glasco. I look forward to hearing from anyone with an interest in this family.
