Looking for Mother's family. She was born Katie Ester McBride 15, April 1915 (ABT. no birth certificate was ever found)and removed from her family, E. McBride at the age of 15 months through the Russell County courthouse (burned) and turned over to William and Lizzy Funnell of Clay County, Kansas. She was never adopted but raised by the Funnell family who changed her name to Velma Volkman. Everyone is deceased now, so I am not doing an illegal search into adoption.
