My Ohl family came from Horstein, Bavaria, Germany in 1837 to Woodford Co. and Peoria Co. Illinois. In c1873 most moved to Atica / Delano / Gypsum, Sedgwick Co., Kansas. They made the run to the Cherokee Strip in 1893 and settled in Grant Co. and Kay Co., Oklahoma. Some later moved to Santa Cruz Co., California.

George Ohl c1845 married in 1875 to Elizabeth Weber/Weaver c1850. He is the son of Johann (John) Ohl and Maria Anna (Mary) Gerst.
