In the 1913 St. Joseph, Missouri City Directory is an entry for Elias Cottrill that states he moved to Ft Scott, Kansas. I have found that it was a normal practice to refer to new addresses in the directory. So I believe he did this.

I only have him down for one dgt and she stayed in St. Joseph until her death in 1925.

He had to my knowledge 3 sons Westly, Edward and Benjamin. In 1860s he had a number of Griswold siblings in law living with him. I have visited Ft. Scott in the past and was unable to track anyone.

It is mysterious that a man in his 80s would relocate, as he lived only blocks from his dgt in St. Joe. Any help would be appreciated.
