Hi. I read a lot about Gove county because my Mother's and Father's families both came to Gove county in the late 1870's-1880s.
Here are some quotes from "Pioneer Reminiscences" -- of Mrs. W.D. Litton.

My father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. Marvin O. Wrighter came from Beatrice, Nebraska to Wakeeney in the fall of 1879, making the trip with team and wagon. ... Among the people who got their mail at Farnsworth was a young cowboy, by the name of Doc Litton, who was herding cattle for a man by the name of Noah Chenoweth. He and his brother had been in the county since 1872, when they came to Ness county. ..... After we were married in the spring of 1894, Mr. Litton bought a good pacing horse for me and I enjoyed riding it for several years. ... When we were married we had to go to Wakeeney for a license. Mr. Litton also filed on the quarter adjoining father's homestead and there we lived for 52 years. Our first home was a dug out.

There is a lot more information written by Mrs W.D. Litton. If she is your relative, a really nice glimpse into her life is available through this history.

Hope this helps. If you need more information please contact me.
