Gail

Here is some information on Clark and his family. He apparently is not buried in Jefferson County, nor are most of his children.

Or you can visit this link at the Jefferson County USGenWeb page and contact either the Merdien or Oskaloosa libraries. They both have copies of the newspaper microfilms for Jefferson County. They may have obituary indices or volunteers who will do look ups for you.

Here is a link to Cutler’s “History of Kansas”, published in 1883 or so. There is a biographical sketch for Clark Shelton. This link may appear as two lines, just click on it and it should take you to the correct page. If not, cut and past both lines into your browser’s address line….

You will need to scroll down or use your browser’s SEARCH function to find the sketch.

I hope this helps in your search. If you have any questions, let me know.
