Looking for information on the SILKS name.
I am working on a new web page about the travels to Atchison. I will post it when I finish it.
Joseph Silks came to Atchison Ks and farmed there. Before the river changed its course Joseph Eli Silks (his son) left to live across the river and stayed gone for 7 years. They declared him legally dead after 7 years. He came back and the farm was now his younger brothers, Albert Silks (born 1865).

Joseph Eli Silks (out of Joseph, Abraham, Davi1) was born in Penn. July 24, 1856. Joseph died in Douglas, Kansas and buried there with his wife Emma and one son Frank. He married twice. He married Florence Silks in Atchison Ks. Then He married Emma (Olds other husbands name) Grace.

The Silks kinfolks of Albert Silks lived around Kc, Ks. and are named Louis Albert Sr. Silks was born Aug 13 1892. Louis died Apr 1964 in Marium, Kansas.
