A county adjoining Wyandotte (Leavenworth County) was the home to St. John's Hospital in Leavenworth, Kansas. It was located at 7th & Kiowa Streets. It was a large 2 or 3 story brick building which burned to the ground approximately 1960 and was rebuilt later in south Leavenworth on 4th St. Trafficway which is also Highway 73/7. It still operates today and is run by the Sisters of Charity of Leavenworth, Kansas.
