I am looking for information on Simeon Phillips MD, b. 1850
d. 1886. His second wife was Cynthia Ruth Cornwall,
daughter of Isaac B. and Mary Catherine (Ward) Cornwall.
She was b. 11/6/1854 and d. 2/6/1878. Cynthia and Simeon
are buried in the New Busby Cemetery, Copan OK. Simeon
"had a wide reputation as a physician and surgeon. People
came from a distance of 100 miles to his office. Dr. and
Mrs Phillips owned a ranch of 1000 acres." One of thier
daughters, Myrtle Phillips, married a Mr. Harris and they
made their home in Caney, KS. I found a book in Salt Lake
City that had a short bio on Simeon but didn't copy it as
it had him listed as Simon and said he was the son of Simon
and Lavina Phillips, which I believe may be in error.
Cynthia and Simeon's graves were moved around 1980 with
construction of the Copan Dam and Reservoir. Records say
that 3 great grand daughters gave permission for the
removal to the new cemetery. Cynthia had Cherokee ancestry
through her mother. Any help would be appreciated.
