As Elwyn died in 1978, He should be listed in the county library obituary index. The index lists the date and page that the obituary was published in the Kansas City, MO TIMES or STAR newspapers. The index was started in 1977. It may also list one of the local weekly papers. It will be a couple of week before I can get to the library.

One note. I know the SSDI lists "Shawnee Mission" as the city of residence. However there is no city by that name in Johnson County. Rather it is a Postal Delivery area covering the North East corner of the county. It includes about 20 cities and covers all the 662xx zip codes. Two of the cities included are the City of Mission and the City of Shawnee. As he died in 1978, the obituary should include his street and city address. The papers discontinued publishing a street address in the 1980s as burglars were robbing homes during funeral services. The obituary will also include the cemetery he was buried in.
