E.L. BRYAN

E. L. “Pat” Bryan, 57, of 4404 Sycamore Drive, Roeland Park, died Thursday at St. Luke’s Hospital. He was born in Yates Center, Kan., and had lived in Roeland Park 20 years. He was a game protector for the Kansas Fish and Game Commission 29 years before he retired last year. He was an instructor for the Johnson and Wyandotte County Young Hunters Safety Program. He was a member of the Kansas and Tri-County Rod and Gun clubs, the Gun and Dog Club, DeSoto in Johnson County, and the Sportsman’s Club, Olathe. He was a member of the Kansas Peace Officer’s Association. He was a Marine Corps veteran of World War II. He was a member of the Anthony, Kan., United Methodist Church. He leaves his wife, Mrs. Arline Bryan of the home; three daughters, Miss Patricia Bryan, Oakland, Calif.; Mrs. Cynthia Burt, San Francisco, and Mrs. Deborah O’Hair, Los Angles; his mother, Mrs. Muriel Bryan, Anthony; a brother, James Bryan, Thayer, Kan.; a sister, Mrs. Marilyn Burchfiel, Dallas and a granddaughter. Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at the Elliot Chapel, Anthony; burial in Forest Park Cemetery there. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. tonight at the Amos Chapel.

Notes: St. Luke’s Hospital is located in Kansas City, Jackson, Missouri. His wife is not listed in the Johnson County Library Obituary index. This index only lists obituaries published for individuals who are Johnson County residents when they die. In the 1978 City Directory his wife is listed as “ E. Arline”. See My first response regarding “Shawnee Mission” as a locality in Johnson County. Elwyn’s actual street and city address are correct in the obituary.
