Searching for the above family-found in 1900 census w/5 children-Lula,Clarence,Maud,Mabel,Harold,James Simon my gfather-Story goes,my father Harold,b 1898 Chanute,Ks-says mother died when he was 6 or 7 -father supposedly put the children in a orphanage-trying to locate how the mother died-need death certificate-also the orphanage-don;t think Clarence was put in the orphanage- as he was a teen -the other children-Anyone living in the Concordia area remember this family-rumor was Lula was mentally retarded-what happened t0 her-The family was living in Chanute at the time of my father birth- James Simon listed as a carpenter in 1900 census-presume they must have moved a lot-hope someone can help me-I've hit a brick wall-please e-mail at gmc@plateautel.net -your help greatly appreciated Geneva Chapin
