I'm attempting to locate information about my Great Grandfather Alexander Bumgardner, who died during the small pox epidemic in 1914. I'm told the state of Kansas would not release his body to the family due to concerns of spreading the disease. If anyone knows the procedure for burying of the bodies at that time, where records might be kept, etc... I would appreciate it.
