BURIAL RECORDS FOR THE TOPEKA STATE HOSPITAL
Transcribed and contributed by Patti Young (PattiPay@aol.com)

Background: The Topeka State Hospital operated as a hospital for the mentally ill between the years of 1879 and 1997.
Prior to 1901 it was known as the Topeka Insane Asylum. The buildings and grounds still exist and are well preserved. A current photograph of the hospital administration building is located at: ( link removed, no longer valid).
A brief history of the hospital is located at http://cjonline.com/stories/011700/com_tshlegacy17.shtml. A history of the hospital published in 1918 is available at: http://www.ksgenweb.org/archives/1918ks/v2/1102.html#110503. Most of the people buried in the cemetery at the hospital are buried in unmarked graves; however, a dozen or so headstones are still standing.

You can find a transcription of those buried there at:
http://www.ksgenweb.org/shawnee/library/vitals/topekacemetery.txt

You can find a transcription of those buried at Winfield:
http://www.ksgenweb.org/cowley/cemetery/WIndfield-State/cem-windfield-state.html

I did not see the name you were looking for on either list.

Hope this helps.
