I just received information about a Julia A. Smith b. 1828 in VA died 2 Feb 1904 in Shawnee County, KS. We are trying to find the date and place of death of my wife's ggg-aunt who was born about 1834 in VA and lived in Leavenworth in the 1860-1885 period, and in Topeka for some time afterward. Our Julia is African-American. Any suggestions on how to verify whether this might be the Julia we are looking for?
