According to 29 Dec 1893 Burlington Independent newspaper death notice, Sam'l Watson died 17 Dec 1893 in Burlington, KS, age 76 of pneumonia. I have been looking for the obituary of Lucinda Watson, there is one in the collection at the Coffey County Historical Museum at Burlington. Unfortunately, there is no name or date of newspaper from which the obit was clipped. It seems that she also died of pneumonia on 30 Jan 1912 in St. Louis MO where she'd been living with her son, Alonzo. "The body was brought to Burlington to the home of her daughter Mrs. Ida Graybeal Saturday where a short funeral service was conducted by Rev.C. L. Hovgard, pastor of the Methodist church, with interment in Graceland cemetery beside her husband." According to his stone in Graceland, he died 15 Dec 1893 [possibly a mis-remembered date] from placing the stone at a later date. I'm still looking for that original obit, I'm up to the middle of Feb 1893 newspaper in the Burlington Independent. Still having fun in Coffey County, Kansas, Kelly Hull
