Researching surnames: SEIDL, YOUNG,
BECHER/BECKER, ZIPPERER, LAVERENTZ,
LOHRENGEL. My Great Grandfather, Frank Seidl
(from Bohemia), came to the U.S. in 1870
probably through NY. Went to Wisconsin then
to Plattsmouth, NB where is married my Great
Grandmother Theresa Becher/Becker dau. of
Joseph Becher and Barbara Niemeier
(Niemery/Neymeier) in abt. 1857 probably in
Bavaria. Theresa Becher had a sister named
Barbara who married Henry Gerhart Laverentz.
They lived in Lanham, and then moved to
Severence, KS. After Frank Seidl's marriage
to Theresa, he moved to Lanham, Washington
Co., KS. He purchased a farm in 1878 on
Section four. His son, Frank Seidl, Jr., my
Grandfather was born in Lanham, and when
grown married Katie Young the dau. of John
Young and Mary Terry. My Great Grandparents
Frank and Theresa Seidl, my Gr. Gr.
grandparents Joepsh & Theresa Becher are all
Buried in St. John's Catholic Cem
