Also the obituary of Alfred Sheridan Brown: Alfred Sheridan Brown was born November 16, 1869 at Tipton, Mo., Cooper county, and passed away at the K.U. Medical Center in Kansas City, Kan., on November 9, 1953. His age was 83 years, 11 months and 23 days. He leaves to mourn his passing his wife, Mrs. Charity Ann Brown and two sons, Clarence Brown, Pratt, and Alva Brown, DeSoto; two half sisters, Mrs. A. J. Marston, Louisville, Colo., Mrs Effie Satchell, Hutchinson and one half brother, Jap Brown. He also leaves seven grandchildren, four great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews and a host of friends.

In the obituary of Clarence A. Brown: Clarence Alfred Brown, son of the late A. S. Brown of Halls Summit, died at the Pratt hospital, December 19, 1955 at the age of 55 years. He had been in the hospital three weeks, following an ulcer operation. He was employed at the Dillons Bakery.
Services were held at the Williams Talbott Mortuary, Saturday, December 31 at Pratt.
Survivors are his wife Edith, two daughters, Mrs. Irene DeVaney, Syracuse, Nellie Fern of the home; two sons Clarence Brown, jr., Anderson, Ind., and Robert Eugene Brown, McPherson, and one brother, Alva E. Brown, DeSoto.

There is no record of Clarence marrying an Edith in the Coffey County index.

Mrs. Charity Brown, age 72 passed away Monday, May 31, 1954 at the Gardner hospital in Gardner. She was a former resident of Halls Summit moving to DeSoto six months ago to make her home with her son Alva Brown. Her husband preceded her in death in November 1953.
Funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon at 2 p.m. from the Halls Summit Methodist church. Burial will be in the Halls Summit cemetery.
