To a large extent Kansas death records are closed. Visit this link to see the requirements you need to meet in order to apply for a death certificate.

As for accessing a corner's report, I do not know what the requirements are. You probably need to try and contact the Linn County Corner and see if the records can be obtained via a Freedom of Information request. the Linn County web page does not have a listing for a corner, you might want to contact the Sheriff's dept and see what they can tell you. Here is a link to their web page.....

If you know the death date, you can search the newspaper microfilms to see what the obituary says. If she did commit suicide, there may be a news story about it. The Kansas State Historical society has the newspaper microfilms available for inter library loan to your local library or Family History Center. This link is for searching the microfilm number. You should also take a look at the link on this page to the KSHS interlibrary loan policies.

The best way to search is to enter the County name and the time frame only. The results page will list all papers published in the county for that time frame that are microfilmed.
