James Walker Keats (my grandfather) taught at the Atcheson Institute in 1887, was married to Samilda Anne Currie from Ohio, on census records June 28,1900, my father Vane was 2 yrs old.He was born in Cumming as was his younger brother Lyle.H T.(Tom)Keats died aged 77 in 1942, farmed in Atcheson County, buried in Round Mound Cemetary. Tom married Dora Thompson Feb.6 ,1901,farmed near Parnell, moved to Atcheson 1915 (ill health),ran a restaurant at 723 Commercial Streetfor 2 yrs.,sold and moved to Curlew neighborhood at time of death.Two sons,Clarence Stauffer RR3 and Allison Stauffer,Dodge City. 2 sisters, Mrs Henry Miller of Atcheson and Rose Jenna of Fitchburg Mass. He was a member of the Modern Woodmen of America. I am interested in locating any living relatives, so far without success.
