Peter Yohon, with his parents, Mr. & Mrs. Chris Yohon, had come to Woodson County in either 1857 or 1859 and were among the first to settle along that part of Owl Creek. In November 1861, Peter Yohon was elected as County Clerk of Woodson Co. This evidently did not interfere with the post office until he resigned and it was taken to the home of Christopher Faler, who kept the post office of Bath at his home from 02 July 1867 until 09 March 1868. At the death of Christopher Faler, his wife, Elizabeth Faler, became postmaster on 09 July 1868 and kept it until it was discontinued and moved to Chellis on 15 July 1869. The post office of Bath had received its name from Bath, New York.
