Turtle resigned as postmaster of the Center Ridge postoffice, and on the same day, Chatham was commissioned as postmaster and the name was changed to Ridge. The site of the postoffice remained the same. A general store was run in connection with the postoffice throughout the time the postoffice was in that locality. Other postmasters at Ridge besides Hazen were Angelo M. Tuttle, Feb.20, 1896, and John W. Jones, April 27, 1900. Jones was postmaster until the office was closed and papers sent to Chanute, effective January 30, 1904.
