    Searching for ancestors and descendants of John [Johann] OTTEN, b abt 1846 in Germany (believed West Prussia), d 1925 in Kansas City, Kan., m in Germany to Wilhelmina "Minnie" REICH, b abt 1845 in Germany, d 1937 in Kansas City, Kan. They were of the Roman Cathlic faith and are buried in the Catholic Cemetery across the road from the Protestant Highland Park Cemetery in Kansas City, Kan. At one time they lived in Quincy, Ill., before moving to Kansas. In the 1910 Census, John is listed as a laborer and they were living with their daughter, Rosa Elizabeth, and her husband at the time in Kansas City, Kan. John's and Minnie's five children were:
    1. ) Rosa Elizabeth Otten, b 7 May 1883 in Quincy, Adams County, Ill., d 19 June 1962 in Kansas City, Kan., m 17 Apr 1901 in Kansas City, Kan., to Henry John KLEMPNAUER, b 26 Oct. 1878 in Elbing, West Prussia, d 11 Nov. 1969 in Kansas City, Kan. Henry ran a Mom-and-Pop grocery store for 30 years at 651 Shawnee Road, Kansas City. Kan., until retiring in 1952.
    2. ) Minnie Otten believed married to a DOOLEY.
    3. ) Charles "Charley" Otten may have had daughter, Eva.
    4. ) Walter Otten.
    2) Edward Otten had daughter, Marie, believed married to a PEINE/PAYNE, and a son, Carl A., born 5 Dec 1903, died 14 June 1991, married Anna ? They had three children: Leon; Rosemary, who married a KINNAIRD; and Dorothy, who married Paul SPECKIN. Oct 1883 in Missouri; WILLIAM b. Apr 1886 in Kansas; NORA b. June 1889 in Kansas; MARY b. March 1891 in Kansas. I believe that Benjamen Wheeler died in Wyandotte County between 1891 and 1900.
