Jay W. Powers, 54, WaKeeney; died Wednesday; Jan. 10, 2007, in Trego County-Lemke Memorial Hospital. He was born July 30, 1952, in Honolulu, son of Gene and Hazel (Victorino) Powers. He attended school in Hawaii and attended Fort Hays State University;

He married Kay Powers on Aug. 19, 1976, in California. He was a respiratory therapist.
Survivors include his wife, of the home; a daughter, Heather Ramos, three brothers, Jacques Powers, Gean Powers, and Hazone Powers, two sisters, Sunette Watnick, and Roxanne Powers, and two grandchildren.
