THIS INDENTURE  Made this eleventh day of January in the year of our

Lord, one thousand-eight hundread and seventy- seven, brtween WILLIAM H.

RICKETTS & JINNIE  RICKETTS ======== of Garnrtt in the County of

Anderson and State of Kansas of the first part, and =========MARTHA

J.RICKETS ======== of the second part;

WITNESSETH,  That the said parties of the first part, in consideration

of the sum of ===== five hundread ===== dollars to  them  duly paid,

have sold, and by these presents do_grant and convay to the said party

of the second part, her heirs and assigns, all that track or parcel of

land, situated in Anderson  County, and State of Kansas and described as

follows, to wit:  ( some of this is to bad to be sure of what it

says),chart of the n.west quarter section thirty-four (34) Township

twenty (20) ???? ninteen (19) " Begining at about ( can't read )

N.W.corner of said quarter Section Running thence east eighty rods

Thence South Sixty Rods Thence West eighty (80) Thence North Sixty (60)

Rods to the place of beginning containing thirty. 301

with the appurtenances, and all the estate, title and interest of the

said parties of the firstpart therein. And the said WILLIAM H. RICKETTS

& JENNIE RICKETTS ==== do  hearby covenant and agree that at the

delivery hereof ===== they are ===== the lawful owners of the premises

above granted, and seized of a good and indefeasible estate of

inheritance therein,free and clear of all incumbrances except taxes now

due and that they will Warrant and Defend the same in the quiet and

peaceable possession of said party of the second part, her heirs and

assignes forever, against all persons claiming the

known to be the same persons who executed the foregoing instrument, and

duly acknowlegded the execution of the same.

     IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto subscribed my name and affixed

my offical seal on the day and year last above written.
