Lorraine, a little town in Ellsworth county, is located in Green Garden township on the Atchison, Topeka & Santa Fe and the St. Louis & San Francisco railroads, 15 miles south of Ellsworth, the county seat. It has a bank, flour mill, 2 grain elevators, a number of retail establishments, telegraph and express offices, and a money order postoffice with one rural route. The population, according to the census of 1910, was 250.
