Funeral Card of EMANUEL BOXBERGER |
The son of George Jacob and Mary Magdelene (Meier) Boxberger, was born June 12, 1895 at the family farm home south of Russell, Kansas. He departed this life on September 17, 1962 at his home last Monday at 4:15 p.m. His age was 67 years, 3 months and 5 days. In early infancy he was baptized and on April 2, 1911, he was confirmed in the Lutheran faith. He attended rural grade school and after attaining manhood, he was united in marriage to Amelia Beck. This marriage was blessed with seven children, all of whom survive him. He engaged in farming all of his adult life and took pride in his work, his home, machinery and stock. His efforts are reflected in the well kept modern home and surrounding buildings on this model farm. As a successful farmer, he held the esteem and respect of his neighbors, friends, business and professional people with whom he came in contact. He enjoyed hunting and fishing when time permitted and always abided by a true sportsman's rule. To remember and cherish his many acts and deeds of devotion to his family, friendly interest in his neighbors and his integrity in his business dealings, are his wife: Mrs. Amelia Boxberger of the home; the seven children, Mrs. Ferdinand (Tabea) Dumler, Russel; Mrs. Sam (Irene) Niedens, Great Bend; Elmer Boxberger, Russel; Leo Boxberger, Oakley; Clarence Boxberger, Russell; Mrs. Otto (Rosie) Niedens, Hoisington and Mrs. Marvin (Dorothy) Niedens, of Great Bend, Kansas. Eighteen grandchildren and one great grandson. Also four brothers and sisters, Wm. G., Ben, Ed, and Leo Boxberger. Mrs. Minnie Morgenstern, Mrs. Ed. Becker, and Mrs. Harold Krug.
