Obituary of FERDINAND A. STRECKER |
Ferdinand A. Strecker, 82, 1752 Elm St., died Thursday
morning, June 16, (1983) at the Central Kansas Medical Center, Great Bend. He was the son of John Jacob and Katherine (Karst) Strecker, born April 1, 1901, in Russell County, and was a lifetime county resident. He was a farmer and operated a creamery in earlier years. Until his surgery, he was actively engaged in barbering, and had completed his 53rd year in barbering. He married Susanna Brack, June 19, 1921, at Milberger. She died Sept. 22, 1982. Survivors are three sons: Lawrence and Orval of Russell and Earl of Aurora, Colo.; and five daughters, Mrs. Dean (Helen) Ward, Russell; Mrs. Lawrence (Genevieve) Nesler, Russell; Mrs. Albert (Wilmetta) Karst, Arvada, Colo.; Mrs. Reuben (Mabeline) Schultz, Thornton, Colorado.; and Mrs. Gary (Shirley) Cramer, Stockton; a sister, Olinda Morgenstern, Galatia; 19 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren. Funeral services were at 3 p.m. Sunday at the Faith Evangelical Lutheran Church, Russell, Rev. John Strackbein, Officiating. Burial was in Russell City Cemetery. He was preceded by his parents, wife, one infant son, and several brothers and sisters. A memorial is suggested to Faith Evangelical Lutheran Church for a communion railing. |
