Obituary of KATHARINA "KATIE" MAI |
Katharina "Katie" Mai, 89, died April 28, 1983, at Russell City Hospital. Born Katharina Maier December 30, 1893, in Krazka, Russia, she had been a Russell area resident since the age of 7. She married John Jacob Mai June 16, 1913, in Russell County. He died April 20, 1977. She was a homemaker. Mrs. Mai was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Russell. Survivors include five sons, Leo, Earlin and Howard, all of Russell, Walter, Great Bend, and Clarence, Wichita; two daughters, Mrs. Herbert (Viola) Bender, Russell, and Mrs. Junior (Wilmetta) Deutsch, Hoisington; one sister, Lydia Niedens, Russell; 13 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Funeral was Sunday at the church with Don Hunzeker officiating. Burial was in Russell City Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the church. (Funeral Card) |
