CITY'S OLDEST RESIDENT DIES --End Comes to Frederick Delfelder at Age of 98--To County in 1860-- Atchison's oldest citizen, Frederick Delfelder, 98, died Friday night a 7 p.m. at his home, 601 Division Street. Death followed two weeks of serious illness from complications due to old age. Mr. Delfelder had been a resident of Atchison County for 67 years. He came here in 1860 from Cook County, Illinois, and remained in the county continuously until his death, except for four years residence near Winfield. Sixteen years ago he moved from his farm home near Effingham to Atchison, retiring from active farm life when almost eighty years old. Mr. Delfelder was born in Mendorf, Bavaria, October 18, 1829. He came to this country when he was 18, locating first in New York. From there he went to Illinois and then came to Atchison County. He married Miss Anna Wagner of Arrington in 1862. DAHLKE, Mrs. Herman (Marie A.) nee Stapelfeldt Obituary

Mrs. Herman Dahlke, Sr., 85, a resident of Atchison 48 years, died at 1 o'clock this morning at the home of her daughter Mrs. Al Schmeling, 603 North Eleventh Street. She had been bedfast for three and a half weeks with complications due to advanced age.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 o'clock Monday afternoon from Trinity Lutheran Church. The body will remain at the Stanton & Stanton Mortuary until 1 p.m. Monday when it will be taken to the church to lie in state until the funeral time. The Rev. F. W. C. Jesse will officiate. Burial will be in Mt. Vernon Cemetery.
The pallbearers will be Frank Zabel, Oscar Duehren, Robert Jacobs, Henry Klostermeier, Richard Hall, and Walter Braun.
MARIE ALBERTINA Dahlke nee STAPELFELDT was born November 20, 1854, at Kanitz Gras Jastin, Germany. June 19, 1877, she was united in marriage at Rummelsburg in Pommern, Germany, to HERMAN JULIUS DAHLKE. Mr. and Mrs. Dahlke came to America in 1891 and established their home in Atchison. For the past 12 years she has made her home with her daughter, Mrs. Greta Schmeling and Al Schmeling, Sr.
Surviving are her husband; two children, Mrs. Schmeling and Herman Dahlke, Jr.; six grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Another son, Frederick, passed away in 1911.

DAHLKE, Fritz (Frederick) Obituary
Atchison Daily Globe Thursday, Dec. 17, 1896
Fritz Dahlke, proprietor of the Milwaukee House, on Main Street, died at 5:30 o'clock this morning, after an illness of three weeks. His death was due to hemorrhage of the bowels. The deceased was 54 years of age, and had been a resident of Atchison for thirty years.
He was a native of Rummelsburg, Pommern, Germany, where his aged mother resides. A widow and four children, the eldest 18, and the youngest 3 years of age, also survive him.
Mr. Dahlke was a member of the Odd Fellows, the Sons of Herman and Turner Societies.
The funeral will take place on Sunday next at 2 p.m.
H. J. Dale, the Eight Street jeweler, is a brother of the deceased.

DAHLKE, Mrs. Fritz (Emma ) nee Pueker Obituary

Mrs. Emma Dahlke, widow of the late, Fritz Dahlke, died at her home, 1121 Main Street, last night. Her death was due to cancer, from which she had long been a sufferer. The deceased was 36 years of age, and leaves five children. The funeral will occur from the residence at 2 p.m. on Monday.

DAHLKE, Herman Julius Obituary
Atchison Daily Globe - Dec. 27, 1948
Herman J. DAHLKE, 97, died at 8 o'clock Sunday night at home of his daughter, Mrs. Al Schmeling, Sr., 603 North Eleventh Street. He had been bedfast the last 11 months following a fall at the home.
Funeral services will be Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at the Haroluff-Buis Chapel with the Rev. Edward Hauer, pastor of Trinity Lutheran Church, officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Vernon Cemetery.
He was born February 21, 1851, at Rummelsburg, Prussia, and it was there that he and MARIE STAPELFELD were united in marriage, June 29, 1877. They were the parents of three children, two children, Herman and Frederick preceding him in death. Mrs. Dahlke died Nov. 25, 1939.
Mr. and Mrs. Dahlke came to Atchison in October of 1890. He was a watchmaker by trade and operated a store at 108 North Eight many years. After he discontinuied his downtown business, he repaired clocks and watches at home, until he was past 80 years of age.
As a hobby he made beautiful inlaid wood-work, cutting and fitting tiny pieces of wood into designs in tables and other pieces of furniture. He made these as gifts for his family.
He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, and was confirmed in Rummelsburg, April 30, 1865.
Besides his daughter, Mrs. Schmeling, he is survived by six grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. He and Mrs. Dahlke made their home with Mr. and Mrs. Schmeling 18 years.
Pallbearers at the funeral will be Oscar Duehren, Bob Jacobs, William Zschocke, Richard Hall, Walter Braun and August Nestler.

DOSSER, Mrs. Nicholas (Anna L.) nee Dahlke Obituary

Mrs. Anna Louise Dosser, 86 formerly of Atchison, died yesterday at a nursing home at St. Joe, Mo., where she had made her home with a daughter, Mrs. E. B. Finnigan, 528 South 38th Street, since moving there in 1936.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. tomorrow at the Heaton - Bowman Funeral Home in St. Joe with interment in Mount Vernon Cemetery about 2:15 tomorrow.
A native of Atchison, Mrs. Dosser was the widow of Nicholas Dosser, who died may years ago. She was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church at St. Joe.
Besides her daughter, Mrs. Dosser is survived by two grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
Note: Anna Dahlke Dosser's parents are Frederick and Emma Dahlke.
DOSSER, Nickolaus George Obituary

Nick Dosser, formerly of Atchison, died this morning at 2:45 o'clock at the home of his daughter, Mrs. E. B. Finnigan, in St. Joseph, Mo. He had lived in Atchison all his life until about two years ago.
Funeral services will be conducted at St. Benedict's Church at 10 a. m. tomorrow and burial will be in the Mt. Vernon Cemetery. The rosary will be recited at 8 o'clock tonight at the Harouff - Buis Funeral Home.
Mr. Dosser was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. John P. Dosser, pioneers settlers in Atchison. In 1898 he and Anna Dahlke of Atchison were united in marriage. For many years he was an Atchison painter.
Surviving are Mrs. Dosser; their daughter, Mrs. Finnigan of St. .Joseph; two grandchildren; one great grandchild; a brother, Frank Dosser of Atchison; and two sisters, Mrs. Will Klopper of Atchison and Mrs. Frank Hilligoss, Wathena, Kans.
DOHERTY, Mrs. John (Charlotte) nee Scott Obituary

Charlotte "Jane" Doherty, 82, 943 Larmie Street, owner of Charlotte's Flower Shop, died Saturday morning, May 13, 1989, at Heartland Hospital East in St. Joseph.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Haroff - Arensberg Chapel with the Rev. Robert Ziegler officiating. Burial will be in Sumner Cemetery south of Atchison. Visitation will be from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Monday at the chapel. Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society or Trinity Lutheran Scholarship Fund.
Mrs. Doherty was born May 11, 1907, in Atchison, the daughter of David and Fleda M. Dowse Scott. She attended the Park Place School south of Atchison and then worked at the Electra Co. and the Hanna Poultry Co. In 1931, she and John O. Doherty were married. They made their home in Atchison. Mr. Doherty died October 25, 1949. In 1959, Mrs. Doherty opened Charlotte's Flower Shop in the 1400 block of Main Street in Atchison. Due to a fire in 1983, she moved her business to its present location at 10th and Laramie streets. She remained active in the business until her death. She was a member of Beta Sigma Phi, the American Legion Auxiliary, American War Mothers, Trinity Lutheran Church, and was a former member of Business and Professional Women.She was well known as a friend to the needy, offering a place to stay, a meal and financial assistance. Survivors include on sister, Erma Dempsey, Atchison and many nieces, nephews and foster children.

FREDERICK DAHLKE
Frederick P. Dahlke, 70, died of cancer last night at his home, 1130 N. Bloomington Ave.
He was born Dec. 31, 1886, in Atchison, Kans. His family moved to Kalispell, Mont., in 1906. He and Gertrude May Allen were married there two years later. They moved here to their present home 10 years ago.
Mr. Dahlke, a painter by trade, worked for contractors. He was a member of the German Lutheran Church. Until recent years, hunting and fishing were his hobbies.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Dahlke is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Ray Miller of Modesto, Calif., three sons, Frederick R. Dahlke of Navy Yard City, Leo Dahlke of Kalispell and Staff Sgt. Floyd E. Dahlke, USAF, stationed in Hunstan, England; 12 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
He also is survived by a brother, Herman, of Ripon, Calif., and a sister, Mrs. Annis Dosser of St. Joseph, Mo.
Funeral arrangements will be announced by Lewis Chapel.
