Obituary: T. D. Inslee

T. D. Inslee was born near Batavia, New York, May 7, 1849, and died September 23, 1913 at his home near Isabel, Kansas.

He lived at his childhood home until 21 years of age when he came to Kansas and settled near Topeka and later located in Pottowatomie Co, where he lived until 1884 when he homesteaded the place now owned by C. C. Campbell. In 1890 he moved to his present home where he resided until the time of his death.

In 1879 he met and married Miss Emma Rinebarger of Pottowatomie county. To this union was born 10 children, 8 boys and 2 girls, one boy dying in infancy.

The children all reside close to the old home place. The children and their families were at his bed side when the end came.

Mr. Inslee was a member of the Christian church and had been for many years. He was also a member of the Odd Fellow lodge of this city.

Obituary: Harriet Emma (Rinebarger) Inslee

Harriet Emma Rinebarger, daughter of Henry and Mary Amelia Rinebarger, was born in Ohio, January 2, 1865 and departed this life June 22, 1942 at the home of her daughter Mrs. P.C. McGilliard in Stillwater, Okla. where she had been visiting since March 1942, at the age of 77 years, five months and 20 days.

She was married to Theophilus Dee Inslee at Havenville, Kans. Nov. 12, 1879. Following their marriage they came to Isabel and homesteaded a farm where she lived until her death.

Mrs. Inslee was a member of the Christian church and the Rebekah Lodge at Isabel.

Her husband preceded her in death Sept. 23, 1913.

She is survived by seven sons, two daughters, 25 grand children and nine great grand children.

Surviving children are; James Redford Inslee of Oakwood, Okla.; Charles Rollin Inslee, Sharon, Kansas; George Dee Inslee, Sharon, Kansas; Mrs. Mary Robinson, Nashville, Kansas; Alva T. Inslee, Wichita, Kans.; William A. Inslee, Isabel; Mrs. P.C. McGilliard, Stillwater, Oklahoma; Clifford Inslee, Los Angeles, California; Gilbert Inslee, Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Funeral services were held in the Methodist church at Isabel at 2 o’clock Wednesday afternoon June 24, 1942, with the Rev. Dale Schnell of Pratt officiating.

Interment was made in the Isabel Cemetery.
