E. J. CLAYTON
Euphratus Clayton died at his home at 316 South Andrick street, Fort Scott, Kansas, last Saturday, June 1st. He enlisted in Company D, 30th regiment, West Virginia calvary on the third day of September, 1862 and was discharged on the 15th day of August 1865. He was wounded on the third day of April 1865 at Five Points, Va., with which he was suffered up to the time of his death.
Mr. Clayton was married to Miss Anges F. Pritchard in Marion county, West Virginia, May 29, 1866. He is survived by her, two sons and five daughters. He was 63 years of age and has been a resident of Bourbon county for maerly 40 years.
The funeral was held Monday, conducted by Rev. Mackenzie and the remains were taken to the Dayton cemetery where burial took place.
