Obituary of ALVIE O. SCOBEE
Alvie O. Scobee, 81, of El Dorado, died Monday morning, March 20, 2000 at a local nursing home. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, March 24, at Kirby-Morris Funeral Home. Interment will follow at the Burns Cemetery.

He was born July 1, 1918 in Cottonwood Falls to George W. and Maude (Sawyer) Scobee. He grew up in the Pineville, Mo. area. He married Anna M. Koester on Feb. 12, 1942 in El Dorado. She survives.

He served his country in the United States Army Air Corps during World War II.

He was knowledgeable auto mechanic, becoming the owner and operator of A&W Auto Service in El Dorado. When he was not busy underneath a car, his real love was to find his favorite fishing hole.

He was a member of the V.F.W. Fred Priestly Post #1174.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, John W. Scobee and Alvin D. Scobee, both of El Dorado; two daughters, Pat Tucker and Nancy Kasper, both of El Dorado; two sisters, Nora Spurgeon of Pratt and Ruby Long of Bucklin; 10 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; five brothers, Frank, Harold, George, Dick and C.W. "Doug" Scobee; and one sister, Eva Randle.

A memorial has been established with the American Cancer Society. Contributions may be sent in care of the Kirby-Morris Funeral Home.
