Obituary of CHARLES "CHUCK" ARTHUR COATS
Charles "Chuck" Arthur Coats, 59, of Potwin, died Monday, April 10, 2000, of injuries from a car-tractor accident in Newton. Services will be at 2 p.m. 
Friday, April 14, at the United Methodist Church in Potwin with the Rev. Robert Burnell and the Rev. Arnold Ensz officiating. Interment will follow in McGill Cemetery in Potwin. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. Thursday, April 13 at Bob Lamb Funeral Home in Whitewater, with the family receiving friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m.

He was born April 14, 1940 at Newton to Roy H. and Sarah Margaret (Baldwin) Coats. He married Marilyn Broyles at the United Methodist Church in Potwin on Aug. 24, 1962. She survives.

He graduated from Potwin High School in 1958. He had been employed as a supervisor at Phillips Industries, S.B. Tools and Norcraft Companies. He had been at Norcraft Companies for 16 years as a craftsman. He had also worked as supervisor at Steven Spring Co. in Newton.

He was a member of United Methodist Church at Potwin.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Michael K. Coats of Potwin; a daughter, Pamela McQuiston of Potwin; his mother, Margaret Coats of El Dorado; two brothers, Harold "Bus" Coats of Potwin and Richard Coats of Boise, Idaho; a sister, Joan Sommers of Potwin and three grandchildren.

Memorials have been established for the United Methodist Church in Potwin and the Multiple Sclerosis Society. Contributions may be sent in care of the 
funeral home.
