Obituary of MARVIN E. PATTERSON |
Marvin Patterson Services for Marvin E. Patterson, 69, will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at McWane Family Funeral Home in Hemet, with burial following at 11:45 a.m. at Riverside National Cemetery, staging area four. Friends may call from 2 until 5 p.m. today at the mortuary. He died Friday of congestive heart failure at Hemet Valley Medical Center. Mr. Patterson, who was born in Augusta, Kan., lived in Hemet for 11 years after living in La Palma for 18 years. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1948 until 1952, leaving as a staff sergeant and welding specialist. He was a machine shop supervisor at Knott's Berry Farm in Buena Park for 12 years. He was an active member of the Christian Heirs Sunday School class at First Baptist Church in Hemet, where he was a member for 11 years, and a member of the Cerritos Valley Baptist Church for 10 years. He enjoyed growing orchids and roses, working with metals and bowling. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Shirley; one son, Randy of Lucas, Kan.; one daughter, Cindi Kelley of Lindsborg, Kan.; five grandchildren; his mother, Laura Beachel of Hemet; and two sisters, Phyllis Snider of Hawthorne and Diane Wilder of Austin, Texas. The family suggests contributions to the Child Evangelism Fellowship, Hemet-San Jacinto Chapter, 540 Buena Vista Parkway, Hemet, 9254 |
