Laken Marie Vandergrift was born at Morris County Hospital in Council Grove on Sunday, Jan. 12, 2002. She weighed six pounds, 11 ounches and was 18 inches long. She is welcomed by her parents, Mitch and Tera and her proud brother, Gabe, 2 1/2.

Grandparents are Gary and Patsy Cutsinger, Cottonwood Falls; Richard Vandegrift, Strong City and Vicki Smerker, Chinook, Mont. Great-grandparents are Edna Vandegrift Strong City, Willie Blackmore and Pat Donelson of Cottonwood Falls and Maxine Cutsinger, El Dorado.
