Bayes- Herpich to wed

Brett Alan Herpich and Bertina Rae Bayes of Herington have announced their engagement.

The bride-elect is the daughter of Kevin and Rose Bayes of Herington. She is a 1994 graduate of Herington High School and will graduate from Emporia State University in December 2003 with a Bachelor of Science degree in education.

The prospective groom is the son of the late Walter Herpich and Leona Roever of Herington and the grandson of the late Walter Lee and Ethel Leona Blount of Cottonwood Falls. He is a 1977 gradu- ate of White City High School and is currently employed by Hodgdon Powder Company in Herington.

The couple plan a June 21, 2003 wedding ceremony at the United Methodist Church in Herington.
