The McKee's headed west and came to Chase County on June 1, 1946. Dr. McKee set up practice in Cottonwood Falls in an office over the Scribner Insurance Agency. A new office building was constructed just west of main street and Dr. McKee moved his office there March 1950, at this time he is still located in the office building.
