Albin, Wayne E

The funeral for Wayne E. Albin, 85, Emporia, was March 16, 2002, in the Roberts-Blue- Barnett Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. John Glennon of the Free Methodist Church conducted the service.

Burial, with services conducted by American Legion Ball-McColm Post 5, were in Memorial Lawn Cemetery. Memorial Contribtuions to the Free Methodist Church may be sent to the funeral home.

Mr. Albin died March 13, 2002, at Newman Regional Health. Mr. Albin worked for Emporia State University for 31 years, starting in the building and grounds department and later working at the power plant. He retired in 1978. He was an Army veteran of World War II. Wayne E. Albin, the son of Clarence and Christine Walthall Albin, was born June 21.1916, at Saffordville.

He married Betty J. Suddock on April 7, 1947 at Topeka. Mr. Albin was a member of the Free Methodist Church. He is survived by his wife; three daughters, Judy Hull, Phyllis Albin and Patty Albin, all of Emporia; one son, Robert Albin of Buffalo, N Y; one brother, Alvin A Albin of Gladstone, Mo.; one sister, Geneva Smith of Pleasanton, Calif.; and six grandchildren. Two sisters, Fern Smith and Helen Richardson died earlier.
