Anderson, Mildred Dora

Mildred Dora Anderson, 97, formerly of Blackwell, Okla., died May 19, 2003, in Cottonwood Falls.

Mildred Dora Hankla was born on May 2, 1916, in Blackwell, , Okla., to Ernest R and Isabell Orton Hankla. As a young girl she moved with her family to Osage County and then to a farm south of Tonkawa, Okla., where she attended Eagles Nest Rural School.

She married Urban S. Anderson on Nov. 6, 1949, in Blackwell and they settled in Blackwell. She was a homemaker. He preceded her in death on Aug. 29, 1992. She later moved to Cottonwood Falls to be near her daughter. She was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Ladies Auxiliary in Blackwell, Okla

She is survived by one daughter, Delores King, Council Grove; one son, Donald Olmstead, Las Vegas, Nev.; one sister, Nellie Auterson, Ponca City, Okla.; and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and greatgreat-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Ernest R `Buck" Hankla; and a sister, Becky Cranford.

The graveside service will be Thursday, May 22, 2003, in New Home Cemetery, Eddy, Okla. Rev. Rick Lorgerier, First Baptist Church, Blackwell, Okla. will officiate. Brow n-Bennett-Alexander Funeral Home in Cottonwood Falls is in charge of local arrangements.
