Armistead, A. Louise

A. Louise Armitstead, 83, of Washington, Iowa, formerly of Isabel and Pratt died June 8, 2002.

A Louise Armitstead, the daughter of Fred L Baker and Zeola Mae Brown, was born June 14, 1918, at Cedar Point. She married Dale Armitstead on Aug 1, 1938 at Pratt, he died earlier.

She was a homemaker and farmed with her husband in Isabel until 1973 when they moved into Pratt. She was active in the Isabel United Methodist Church, Ashton 4-H Club and Ladies Farm Bureau. She was a member of the Pratt Friends Church.

She is survived by two daughters, Delores Willard Edgewood, New Mexico and Sharon Kay Christner, Washington, Iowa; two brothers, Melvin Baker and Robert Baker, both of Mountain Home, Ark.,; three sisters, Mary Green, Alice Strong, and Mildred Teufel all of Wichita; three grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren; she was preceded in death by three sisters, Dorothy Brumbaugh, Esther Morgan and Wanda Morgan; and a grandson Michael Willard.

Graveside service was June 10 in Ellenwood Cemtery, Sawyer, with Chaplain John Havens officiating. Ayres-Calbeck Morturary of Pratt is in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be sent to South Wind Hospice, Pratt or to a Hospice of your choise.
