Barb, Lisle D

Lisle D. Barb The funeral for Lisle D. Barb, 88, of rural Hamilton was March 6, 2003, in the Wilson Funeral Home at Madison. The Rev. Mark Demas conducted the service. Burial was in Blakely Cemetery, northwest of Madison.

The family suggested that instead of flowers, memorial contributions be made to Hand in Hand Hospice and sent in care of the funeral home, P O. Box 488, Madison, KS 66860. Mr. Barb died March 3, 2003, at Newman Regional Health.

He was a farmer, dairyman and stockman on the family farm, which he purchased from his father in 1948. He lived in the Hamilton commu- nity for 69 years.

Lisle D. Barb, the son of Ord and Mable Stewart Barb, was born Jan. 29, 1915, on the fam- ily farm in Greenwood County. He attended a one-room school and lived in the Madison and Cedar Point communities until the Barb family moved to Hamilton in 1934.

He married Adeline L. Fechter on Feb. 24, 1940, in Cottonwood Falls. She died Jan. 27, 1977. He married Anna Mae Cookson on July 25, 1988, in Emporia. Mr. Barb was a member of the United Methodist Church in Hamilton and the Hamilton Lions Club. He had served on the Hamilton school board.

He is survived by his wife; a son, Dale Barb of Wichita; a daughter, Shirley Choens of Valdosta, Ga.; a brother, Earl Clair Barb of Muncie, Ind.; a sister, Nadine Gleason of Sun City Center, Fla.; and two grandchildren. An infant brother died earlier.
