Chase County Obituaries

Barlett, Rufus Rufus Bartlett was born in Warren county, New York, May 11, 1827, and died at Morgan, Kansas, Sep 19, 1902.
He married Miss Mary E Cudworth, Apr 1, 1854. Was converted and united with the Baptist church in 1869, and moved to Kansas and settled in Chase County in 1888. He had always lived on a farm and had always been an earnest Christian, and kind and loving husband and father.
There is left with his wife, one daughter, Miss Viola, one brother, and many warm friends to mourn his loss.
Elder N Harkins of Clements, preached the funeral sermon, text Job 14-14, bringing out the beautiful story of the resurrection. Although the day was stormy many friends attended the services at the house, and rode in the storm to the grave.
