Becker, Ruth McDaniel

Mrs. Ruth McDaniel Becker, 85, died Sept. 29, 2001 at a care center in Colorado Springs, Colo.

Mrs. Becker was born Sept 14, 1916, in Sprintg Hill, to Aubrey and Uretta McDaniel who are deceased.

She was married to William H,. "Bill" Becker of Strong City on May 29, 1942. She was preceded in death by an infant brother.

A resident of Colorado Springs since 1947, she is survived by her husband, Bill; her sister Mary Branson of Westminster, Colo.; four sons, William "Bill" Becker of Loveland, Colo., Don Becker of Colorado Springs, Colo., Clarke Becker of Woodland Park, Colo., and Curt Becker of Colorado Springs, Colo,; eight grandchildren; and two great granddaughters.

She taught English and Latin at Strong Rural High School from about 1938 to May 1942. She was a loving mother, wife and homemaker. Services were held Oct. 4, 2001 at the First United Methodist Church in Colorado Springs, Colo. Dr. O Gerald Trigg presided.

Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Baker University, P O Box 65, Baldwin City, Kan. 66006 or the First United Methodist Church Youth Singers, 420 N Nevada Ave., Colorado Springs, Colo. 80903.
