Books, Susan

Mrs. Susan Books of Toledo died at her home Sunday morning after a long illness caused by a complication of diseases. She had been a resident of Toledo. twenty years and her death will be mourned by many friends there. The funeral was held at the family home Monday afternoon after which the body was laid to rest in the Toledo cemetery. Rev. Samuel Finch of Saffordville preached the funeral sermon.

Mrs. Books was born in Ohio in 1835, where the early part of her life was passed.

About 1890, the family moved to Toledo, where they have remained permanent residents. Mrs. Books leaves eleven children, five of whom live at Toledo.

Mrs. Book's life has been a shining example of that of a faithful, earnest Christian. In early girlhood she united with the Methodist church and her three score years have since been passed in daily communion with her Master. Although the last years of her life were spent in illness and suffering, it only served to enhanse her beautiful Christian character.

The children who are left to mourn the death of their noble mother have the sincere sympathy of the community.
