Authoratives Are Anxious to Locate Relatives of Mr. Bowes, Who Died at Ryan Hotel.

The Chase county authorities are anxious to learn the whereabouts of relatives or friends of Wm. M. Bowes, who died at the Ryan & Maloney hotel in Strong City Thursday morning, following a brief illness of several days.

Bowes, who came here from Wichita several months ago has since been employed in the Ryan & Maloney hotel but nothing regarding his relatives is known. Letters belonging to him gave the name of John Waits, 223 West Third street, Wichita, who is believed to be either a relative or friend of the dead man. Bowes, who was about forty years of age, was of short and heavy build, being about five feet and six inches tall and weighing about 165 pounds. He is said to have spoken of "his folks" living in Canada before his death but there were no papers among his effects giving the names of these. The body is being held at the McKenzie-Sawtell undertaking rooms in this city, in the hopes that his people may be found.
